The Philadelphia Eagles dropped their fifth consecutive game on Monday night, losing 38-21 to the Dallas Cowboys. The defeat extends the Eagles' longest losing streak since 2016, leaving them with a 2-5 record in the NFC East.

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to victory with 212 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He connected with CeeDee Lamb twice on those scores. Javonte Williams had a standout night on the ground, rushing for a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys finished with 204 total rushing yards, a mark not seen from a Dallas player in a single game since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018.

Philadelphia quarterback Tanner McKee started in place of Jalen Hurts, who is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to blood clots in his lungs. McKee completed 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. His lone touchdown pass went to rookie Makai Lemon on a fourth-quarter drive that lasted nearly 10 minutes.

The Cowboys built a decisive lead in the second half. With Dallas trailing 21-20 late in the third quarter, CeeDee Lamb caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Prescott in the corner of the end zone. Prescott converted the two-point attempt personally to make the score 28-21. Kicker Brandon Aubrey later added field goals of 55, 27, and 24 yards to stretch the lead to 31-21 before Williams scored on a two-yard run to close the game.

Saquon Barkley returned to the field after missing more than two games with a hamstring injury. He recorded 62 yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown on the opening drive. Barkley entered the game with only 36 rushing yards on the season. He spent time on the sideline receiving treatment for his back and hamstring, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown intercepted McKee late in the fourth quarter.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame during halftime. Lurie has owned the franchise since 1994, during which the team has won two Super Bowls. He was joined on the field by Hall of Famers Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb. Lurie gave a brief speech but did not hold a pregame news conference, leaving head coach Nick Sirianni to address Hurts' condition for the first time since the injury occurred.

The Eagles will travel to Washington on Sunday night to face the Commanders in another NFC East matchup. The Cowboys host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
