Eric Bauza has died at the age of 46. The voice actor was best known for portraying Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig in recent Looney Tunes productions.

His family announced the death in a statement posted on Instagram. They described the passing as sudden. Variety reported that Bauza died at his home on Sunday. The cause of death was listed as hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

Bauza was active in the industry up to this summer. He voiced several characters in the animated film Coyote vs. Acme. He also appeared in the recent release Forgotten Island. In Coyote vs. Acme, he reprised his roles as Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, and Foghorn Leghorn. He also played the Road Runner in that film.

Born in Ontario to Filipino parents, Bauza grew up imitating cartoon characters. He spoke about his love for the medium in a 2021 interview with NBC News. "Looney Tunes transcends all languages and all cultures," he said. "It doesn't matter what part of the planet you're from. You get the comedy."

His work reached a global audience in 2021 with the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy. He provided voices for multiple characters in that film. Outside the Warner Bros. franchise, he played Toad General in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He returned to that role in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. That sequel is currently the fifth highest-grossing film internationally this year.

Bauza received three Emmy awards for outstanding voice performance between 2022 and 2025. Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, paid tribute to him. "Eric Bauza was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world," she said. "He followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc." She added that Bauza considered carrying on the Looney Tunes legacy one of the greatest honors of his life.
